Thank you for sponsoring
You helped carry us to Birmingham Children's Hospital.
A pack of photos, the story of the day, and ready-to-share posts, so you can shout about being part of it in a couple of taps.
What happened on the day
50km, on foot, for the children of Birmingham Children's Hospital.
On Thursday 28 May 2026, The Mission Planet team ran 50km along the canal from Stratford-upon-Avon to the doors of Birmingham Children's Hospital. Every step was in aid of the children on its wards and the families beside them.
We were sent off by the Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon and met at the finish by the hospital's own team, carrying one belief the whole way: ordinary people, choosing to act, can create extraordinary change.
None of it would have been possible without the businesses who chose to stand behind it. You are one of them, and this is your thank you.
The photos
This is your story too.

Still going
The fundraiser is still live.

"If you want to go far, go together." 50km for Birmingham Children's Hospital
What's next
This is what the fundraising is really for.

“My colleagues were in awe of you all today. You are all just wonderful, and we are so very grateful and proud to be associated with you. It would be so wonderful to show you around the hospital and tell you all about the amazing things fundraising income changes, and oftentimes saves lives. You are all truly special people, and we are humbled by all you have done for us and within your community. The world needs more kindness, and my God, you all epitomise it.”
Amanda, Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity
The journey doesn't end here. Reaching Birmingham Children's Hospital was never the finish line, it was the start of a relationship.
We are now arranging to visit the wards with the hospital team, to see first hand where fundraising goes and to carry those stories back to our community. A film of the run is still to come, telling the story of the day alongside the deeper journey behind it, including our photographer Jess, and the themes of treatment and recovery that touch so many families. There is more content to share, and more still to come, perhaps even another event.
This was never only about the miles or the money. It is about showing what kindness can do, and we are not done.
Shout about it
We made these for you.
So you can shout about being part of it in just a couple of taps.
This is what backing something good looks like. On 28 May, the team at @themissionplanet ran 50km, on foot, from Stratford-upon-Avon all the way to the doors of Birmingham Children's Hospital. For the kids on the wards. For their families. For something much bigger than a normal Thursday. We're proud to have sponsored it. And the best part? It's not over. The journey doesn't end here, and you can still chip in (link in bio). We're proud to have sponsored something special. On 28 May 2026, The Mission Planet team ran 50km along the canal from Stratford-upon-Avon to Birmingham Children's Hospital. Every single step for the children on its wards and the families beside them. Backing people who turn up and do the hard thing for someone else? That's an easy yes for us. And it doesn't stop here. Proud to have sponsored The Mission Planet's 50km Canal Ultramarathon for Birmingham Children's Hospital. On 28 May 2026, the team ran 50km from Stratford-upon-Avon to the hospital, raising funds for the children on its wards and their families. We talk a lot about community in business. This is what it actually looks like: ordinary people choosing to act, and a town getting behind them. We were glad to play our part. The journey doesn't end here. You can still support the cause: https://www.justgiving.com/page/the-mission-planet-canal-ultramarathon Thank you to The Mission Planet and Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital and Charity. A thank you from The Mission Planet
You did not just sponsor a run. You helped carry a team 50km to the doors of Birmingham Children's Hospital, and helped raise real money for children who need it. Whether you gave funds, equipment, water, or simply your name and belief, you made this real. This is only the beginning, and we are proud to have you with us.
With gratitude, Rohan and The Mission Planet team
